In spite of its relatively small size of just under 18 square miles, the beach city of Garden Grove, California is a bustling one, packing over 170,000 citizens inside its borders. With so many people naturally comes a bit lesser physical space for everyone. However, there are still plenty of living options available, with many of them being condominiums instead of houses. As long as you’re willing to pay a bit more, usually in the neighborhood of $300,000, this cool working community might be the place for you.

Garden Grove is a great location for those looking to spread their wings in the working community. The number of different businesses in the area is large and diverse, so if you’re coming in with a blank slate, there’s bound to be something for you here. Many of the city’s top employers are in the private sector, including Air Industries Corp., OfficeMax, Hyatt Regency and Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. There’s also no shortage of educational options for younger citizens. Whether you’ll be bringing kids with you to your new residence or if you’re planning on potentially having children in the future, there are plenty of institutions to see them all the way through grade school. Additionally, nearby college campuses include Coastline Community College, Santa Ana College and the University of California, Irvine.

When you’re not working, there are plenty of options for diverting entertainment. Every year, Garden Grove hosts the Strawberry Festival to celebrate the city’s past in agriculture with plenty of games, food and parades to be enjoyed by all ages. Living in this area of southern California means you are surrounded by a slew of family friendly options year-round. The neighboring city of Anaheim is home to such iconic attractions as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm as well as the widely enjoyed Medieval Times. If something in the area of performing arts is more your thing, the Gem Theater and the Festival Amphitheater are two of the local hotspots. Of course, perhaps the main benefit of living in a coastal city is the proximity to the Pacific Ocean itself. Since the weather tends to remain warm for most of the year, a relaxing trip to the beach is almost always an option. Indeed, it is a perk that is the reason behind the slightly higher home prices. However, if you have the money at your disposal, there are fewer places more emblematic of the highly-coveted California lifestyle than Garden Grove.
