Grand Junction, western Colorado’s largest town, sits at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers, thus its nickname "River City." The cost of living in Grand Junction is low compared to the extremely high quality of life it offers. Grand Junctions’ location in the Grand Valley gives it both a pleasant climate and fertile soil. People come from all over the area to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables in the summer. The soil is also well suited to growing grapes and with more than 20 wineries and vineyards in the Grand Valley area, it is quickly becoming known as "Colorado’s Wine Country."

The mild weather also benefits residents of Grand Junction in other ways. The surrounding mountains and mesas protect the town from severe weather. Lots of sunshine and low rain and low snowfall make spending time outdoors in Grand Junction a pleasure. Snow does accumulate in the nearby mountains, however, making the resorts there great places for skiing and snowboarding. In fact, if outdoor activities sound appealing, Grand Junction is a fabulous place to live. It placed sixth in Outdoor Life’s 2012 list of "The 35 Best Hunting and Fishing Towns in the US." The areas has also turned into a major destination for mountain bikers, with single-track trails that attract bikers from all over the country. Camping, rock climbing, hiking and whitewater rafting are also popular activities, and Grand Junction is home to numerous golf courses with stunning desert views. Grand Junction also has a pedestrian-friendly downtown, featuring quaint shops, restaurants and cafes, music venues and bars, as well as museums and galleries. Grand Junction offers access to wonderful outdoor opportunities while providing all the amenities of city-living, making it a wonderful place to call home.
