Located less than nine miles outside of the town of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Hope Mills is a small town with a lot of things going on. With a median home price of only $160,000, you can find some great real estate values. Stately brick homes, cottages and manufactured housing dot the landscape in a population of approximately 16,000 people.
The town offers residents a large variety of services and recreation from public parks to a video arcade and laser tag. Sporting activities involve miniature golf and batting cages as well as golf. A first-rate theater complex provides indoor entertainment along with a new County library that offers reading programs and meeting rooms. Five shopping centers allow fun days out for some retail therapy. A water park and a golf course are available for outdoor fun during nice weather, or you can do some indoor rock climbing in nearby Fayetteville.
During the fall, there is no place like Hope Mills for corn mazes and hay rides. Nearby farms produce pumpkins for sale and a Halloween favorite is the Stoney Point Trail of Terror, located just inside the city limits of Fayetteville. Also nearby is the four-mile Cape Fear River Trail, which is a paved greenway trail that runs along the Cape Fear River from the Jordan Soccer Park at the north end of the trail to Clark Park at the south end. As part of the East Coast Greenway, which is planned to eventually reach from Maine to Florida, this urban trail passes through woods filled with marshy areas and supports a large diversity of wildlife and various plants. The Cape Fear Botanical Gardens are a great way to spend the day, or you can visit the Special Operations & Airborne Museum, historic battlefields and the free Fayetteville Museum of Art while in Fayetteville as well.
