Indianapolishas experienced a major economic boost over the last several decades. While the real estate market continues to supply investors with distressed sales, a vast array of new developments is attracting buyers from all over the country. Medium-size three- and four-bedroom homes represent the bulk of the current inventory of real estate.

Indianapolis has come along way since the housing decay of the 1970s and 1980s. Major projects began and continued through the 1990s, eventually placing the city at the forefront of urban revitalization. Today, Indianapolis’s historic mile square is ranked among the most livable downtowns in the country. The city has also designated seven cultural districts. White River State Park is home to the Indianapolis Zoo and the NCAA headquarters, while Broad Ripple Village boasts a vibrant youth culture scene with nearby Butler College. These neighborhoods have been restored for modern living but still retain every bit of their historic charm. In addition, the Indianapolis Culture Trail connects the five downtown districts with an extensive network of bike and pedestrian paths lined with monuments, parks and local artwork. All this central growth has spawned further expansion and renovation projects within the outskirts of the city. Most of the current development is actually happening on the other side of the belt route, and shoppers can choose from a variety of home styles at every budget level.

Indianapolis is a key relocation destination for the Midwest, and it’s affordable housing continues to attract investors and jobseekers. The job market is dominated by manufacturing, retail, health care and social service organizations. The city also serves as the headquarters for several fortune 500 companies, including Anthem Inc., and Calumet Specialty Products Partners. Because of its competitive market, Indianapolis continues to draw attention from entrepreneurs, sports enthusiasts and retirees. Furthermore, the Crossroads of America is one the nation’s most accessible cities for residents and visitors alike.
