Now, the economy of Kissimmee relies primarily on tourism and related industries. As a major epicenter for leisure and hospitality, it may come as no surprise that the Walt Disney Company is the second largest employer in Kissimmee, and the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center comes in fourth. Non-tourism popular employers include education, health, and government services such as the School District of Osceola County, the Osceola Regional Medical Center, and Osceola County itself. Walmart and Publix represent two of the major employing retailers in the city.
