Located right on the tip of Los Angeles County, La Habra is quaint little neighborhood with plenty to offer growing families. There are many available homes in the area including multiple bedroom houses, condos and apartments. Plus, if you are interested in building your dream home yourself, there are a handful of open lots waiting for you. If you consider yourself particularly savvy or if you want to save a bit, you can purchase one of the foreclosure properties available.

La Habra, CA has a population of just over 60,000 individuals. The area is rich in Hispanic culture and history. Originally, Spanish settlers discovered the area and the name pays homage to the explorers’ use of the region as a "Pass Through the Hills." The city is connected to the Hass Avocado Mother Tree, which Rudolph Hass planted in the 1920s. The Hass avocado is one of the most popular of its fruit variety worldwide. The area’s warm climate contributed to the fruit’s initial success. These days, the residents simply enjoy the ever-sunny weather with the occasional rainy moment. The city shares borders with a number of other towns including Fullerton, Brea, La Habra Heights, Whittier, La Mirada and East Whittier

The La Habra Stakes are named after the city and began in 1973. The event is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Santa Anita Park. It is a grade 3 stakes race with a distance of a little less than seven furlongs. The grand prize is valued at $100,000. The area does reasonably well economically and is home to several key employers. CVS, Wal-Mart and the City of La Habra are the biggest employers in the region. Other notable hiring entities are Home Depot, Lowe’s, Kohl’s, Costco, Target, La Habra Bakery, La Habra Convalescent Hospital and VIP Rubber. The region is served by three public school districts and has one private Christian high school. The area is also home to 10 elementary schools, 2 public high schools and 2 middle schools. Every year in the first weekend of August, the city holds a world-famous corn festival at El Centro-Lions Park. It brings thousands into the town annually. The Children’s Museum attracts upwards of 90,000 visitors a year and features unique exhibits designed for youngsters. It opened in 1977 and was the first institution of its kind in the region west of the Mississippi River. With so much to do, many people are happy to call La Habra home.
