Located just outside Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and Rancho Santa Margarita, Ladera Ranch is a gorgeous planned community in the southern portion of Orange County, CA. The community boasts a current population of 22,980 people, and provides some of the newest real estate in the country. Ladera Ranch is made up of nine villages that contain smaller builder developments that are called neighborhoods. The larger community of Ladera Ranch offers a number of other recreational venues including a private water park and skate park, six small pools, a dog park, and18 community parks. Additionally, there are a number of nearby hiking trails that lead to Doheny beach, and there is a prominent shopping district referred to as the Mercantile East Shopping Center.
The community has also taken a number of measures to reduce traffic speeds including the strategic placement of many roundabouts and narrow small residential streets. There are also a number of committees that ensure the continued beauty and integrity of the area. Students in the community attend the Capistrano Unified School district or a number of private school options. Saddle back college, located in Mission Viejo, provides higher education opportunities. The larger Orange County area also offers a number of colleges and universities and a number of additional activities including the beach, hiking, restaurants and nightlife.
