Beach life in a growing city on the Intracoastal Highway

Parked south of the city center in Pompano Beach and north of Fort Lauderdale, the centrally located Pompano and Santa Barbara Shores has become a prime spot to discover the area’s growth. "This place is just going bananas," says David Collins, Realtor with Charles Rutenberg Realty of Fort Lauderdale. Collins has lived in the Pompano and Santa Barbara Shores area for more than 11 years. "There's new construction everywhere. I just bought a townhouse here two or three years ago, and some guy tried to buy it off me for $80,000 more a week later! I told him it was not for sale, and he said, 'Good choice. Pompano Beach is taking off,'" Collins says. With connections to the Intracoastal Waterway running throughout, the area’s also got plenty to offer for boating and fishing enthusiasts. Seafaring locals can take a vessel from home to the Atlantic Ocean itself without having to worry about fixed bridges.
