Picturesque might not be the first word that comes to mind when Montgomery, Alabama is mentioned, but it's one of the most accurate descriptions of a city with urban forestry located on the southern banks of the Alabama River. The homes for sale in Montgomery have just as much appeal as the city itself. Some sit on multi-acre lots with gorgeous green lawns and feature spacious floor plans, while others have a more intimate feel and boast original wood floors and marble fireplaces.

Buying a home in Montgomery is a smart investment. Home values have continuously appreciated over the past 10 years, even in times of national economic woes. Some of best neighborhoods include Snowdoun, Madison/Flatwood, Cloverdale and Deer Creek, but every area has something unique to offer. It's no wonder that more than 200,000 people are proud to call Montgomery home. Others are touting all the city has to offer as well. It has received national recognition for revitalization projects and won USA Today's Reader's Choice Award in 2014 for 'Best Historic City.' The original Wright Brothers Flight School was in Montgomery, as was the First White House of the Confederacy. Perhaps the most historic event, however, was the Montgomery Bus Boycott during the Civil Rights Movement. Today, residents of the city live together much more amicably and often spend evenings outside with their friends and neighbors. Warm temperatures throughout most of the year make this possible. Winters are mild and, even though there is a ski resort in Alabama, Montgomery rarely receives snow.
