About This Home

Rarely do all the right things come together. This did happen when a University of Mexico trained architect, a local contractor, a master brick mason from Mexico, a wood carver from Guadalajara, a multi-talented gentleman from Sonora and a master trim carpenter from Phoenix and a host of willing, enthusiastic laborers combine their skills and efforts for 13 months building a home in north Scottsdale. Emphasis was put on using natural materials and traditional design. Architect German Robledo incorporated ideas using handmade brick from Mexico, hand cut corbels cut on site, niche’s and accents characteristic of Old Mexico, while the owner sought out measured drawings from turn of the century New Mexico to be used in hand carved doors and hand carved cabinets.
