Queen Anne Antebellum Revival RESTORED! A Cypress Landmark from before the 1900's, a piece of Louisiana History right here in St. Martinville, one of the oldest cities in Louisiana. A city filled with memories going back generations. And this is how I begin to describe the Burdin House... A Masterpiece at the hands of two people who had a vision. Together created an exquisite blend of their own style. I would say; it has a "Coastal Cottage" feel while remaining true to the character and Integrity from the original architectural foundation and elements. Personally, I couldn't help but feel like a true Southerner once standing on the front Gallery...Sipping Iced tea, having a glass of sherry...Sunday dinners, celebrations and life stories all running through my mind. This legend was built on a ridge standing high and proud on a 2.34 lusciously landscaped parcel that over looks the Bayou Teche. Knowing that the film: Christmas on the Bayou was filmed here, I was anxious to step inside the "Center Hall" where the plans of the home originated. I could not have hoped for anything more amazing!!! No matter what dormer you look through it will be a treat.
From the lips of the front steps to the stacks of the 5 chimneys; this home is a must see!! The owners began their restoration in August of 2016.
