It’s not often that reclaimed strip mine properties are offered in the area, and this one won’t last long. The 40-acre mostly wooded tract contains the entirety of one strip pit, most of another with a ¼ mile of it on the property, and parts of three others, totalling over five surface acres of water. With mound terrain typical of strip pits, and crystal clear water, stepping onto it feels like being transported into a miniature mountain environment. The water is so clear that it doesn’t take long to notice the pits are teeming with largemouth. While fishing the front pit, I observed a massive bass lazily swim out from under the deadfall I was perched upon. At the front of the property is an old homesite with power and a well, being an ideal location for camping or a cabin.
