About the Builder
George Goodwyn, Jr. grew up on job sites in Montgomery, AL with his father, George Goodwyn Sr., a civil engineer who founded Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood. Following in their father’s footsteps, George graduated from the University of Alabama and began working in commercial construction. While they thrived through precision and attention to detail on the job site, they was unfulfilled.
George discovered that in building homes not only could they build a team that would succeed together and remain together – with many of the same team members working at Goodwyn Building today, but also play a part in their neighbors reaching the American Dream – owning their own home. In 2010, with more than 20 years of experience under their belt, George set out to build an affordable, quality home that was also energy efficient, hoping to truly create an affordable home to buy and own.
Since then, Goodwyn Building has continued to grow and is now proudly building in multiple markets in Alabama and boasts a team of professionals that provide a world class building experience. Goodwyn Building’s family values and strong sense of tradition is continuing with the next generation. George’s children, Carter and Alison, have joined George at Goodwyn Building and together they work to blend their expertise and passion to create a warm and family-oriented environment for their homeowners and team members alike. Together, their complementary skills and shared dedication to a family-oriented approach ensure that Goodwyn Building remains rooted in the values that have made them who they are today.
Through that growth, Goodwyn Building has continued to hold fast to the goal of building a home that has exceptional livability and providing homeowners the assurance that they will continue to be able to afford their home far into the future with well thought out, energy-efficient homes that builds generational wealth through homeownership.
