Manuel was given the Purple Heart, Medal Of Velour, he jumped on a granade in order to save the lives of the new recruits that he was leading. He was L Corp. and was in charge of the troop he was leading. They were over run ,It was the Tet Offensive.That was on Feb 8,1968, he is buried in Piru, CA 93040. He is the only Marine that died from Piru.

Only a surviving Spouse is able to qualify for any type of VA benefits. Loans such as VA loans, and recently GI Bill, unfortunately it does not apply to other family members at this time. Check the VA Website for more information on survivor benefits.

Your lender will be able to search for programs for you . I have never heard of a survivors military home loan, but the lenders always surprise me! I am hoping that you are pleasantly surprised! Wishing you the best.
