It can be a challenge with rentals finding one that allows pets. Some rental communities allow only certain sizes and breeds. Individual landlords each have their own set of rules and requirements. When you get to this point, it's hard for the nationwide websites to deliver that information correctly. The best thing to do at this point is to contact a local realtor that specializes in rental property. This is probably the only way to get the quality level of service you need in finding the right home.

The Humane Society Of America has a listing of tips on finding rental housing with pets. Check your local animal shelter as well for a list of apartment communities that accept pets. Also websites dedicated to specific breeds may lead to back to your area and rental housing.

I am not sure where you are looking, but some of the properties have the "pets allowed" wording right on the front below the first picture. It can also be found if you click on the picture for more information, then scroll down to the property features tab. If it says it there, you should be good. You can always call for that information to verify the breed you own is permitted.

If you contact a local Real Estate agent they can search for rentals that allow pets. Just let them know what type of dog you have and hopefully they can find you something that meets your needs. It's typical for a pet fee to be charged along with the security deposit. I know it can be frustrating at times but hang in there and be persistent ! Best of luck in your search, enjoy the journey!~PHILIP
