In addition to "pittbull" owners German Sheppard, Rottweiler, Mastiff, Doberman even Dalmatian owners just to name a few may find their options limited because of the breed of dog they own. Any Real Estate agent who has access to the MLS can search pet friendly rentals for you. MLS listings are often not specific as to what breeds landlords will accept but your agent can find this out for you. If you are planning on buying a home you will need to check local ordinances where the home is located to make sure they allow your breed of dog. Home Owners Insurance should also be a concern as some insurers may not cover you if you own one of these breeds. This is not legal advice and everyone's situation is different. You should do you own research or contact an attorrney to help you choose the best course of action for you.
