I'm in escrow on short sell as buyer & broker. List. broker sent me addendum to sign stating I agree to continue with deal whether or not bank pays me

Can I rescind and have earnest money returned to me?

I would guess that it has something to do with "Horning v. Shilberg (2005) 130 Cal. App. 4th 197" summarized as "By acting on his own behalf, the buyer was not acting as a real estate broker and, thus, was not entitled to lost commission." The listing broker may have figured out that you may not be due a commission. You should ask the listing broker about the intent of the addendum. You should also consult with your legal advisor.
