Lending Tree and Quicken are not Lending Companies. They are marketing companies that farm out your business. Your best bet for a refi is to go to a very qualified broker who has been in business for a long period of time. Not a Bank or a Banker. Banks are good for check books and Bankers charge additional interest costing you more at the closing refi table. Most importantly, check with the company that holds your mortgage now and see if they will streamline your loan at a nominal cost. If not, take the broker route who puts the loan out to many different banks and you will win in the end. Brokers are capped by the Federal government as to how much they can make and are audited quarterly. Bankers are not.

I agree a local lender is the best. I would recommend Janet Presswood with Fairway Mortgage.

ANY local lender would be preferred over one you cannot see/speak to personally. I refer my buyers to Vicki Williams at Anchor. She has 40 years in the business and knows everything there is to know about mortgage.
