There were several snags along the way that could have jeopardized the sale and purchase. However, Gage was able to help us navigate and negotiate a solution that ultimately ended with a successful sale and purchase. This included winning a multiple-offer situation and hitting our bogey on the sales price of our existing home. External complications, specifically the IRS shutdown affecting the processing of 4506 income verification forms, prevented us from hitting our move-in date. However, Gage was able to negotiate a pre-settlement agreement that allowed us to take possession of the house on our scheduled move date. This is an example of what I consider to be going the extra mile. The attitude was not "this is out of our control". Instead the attitude was "lets find a way to make this work". His experience in the realtor arena paid dividends when the selling agent failed to bring our offer to the sellers in a timely manner. When a couple where not done to our satisfaction, he was right back at it to insure we got what we wanted. Even after closing, he has been aggressive at following up on a couple of loose ends. Buying a house is an exciting, but scary time in a person's life, and Gage made the experience so much easier, one, by not pressuring us, two, by genuinely taking an interest in what we were looking for and trying to find homes that fit our requirements, but equally important, he was responsive, always available and always willing to meet us, answer a question and simply be with us at every step, every doubt, every question of the process. Interesting sad story is that he wasn't even the realtor we were going to deal with! Our previous mortgage company "recommend" that we use their network of realtors, to some advantage, and benefit to us, to purchase our new home. We gave two of their realtors a chance, yet their reponses to us were severely lacking and unprofessional, and out of pure luck, which we can't recall how or why, we stumbled upon Gage Cole, who was 180 degrees different from ANY realtor we had ever dealt with, including these 2 "recommended" realtors. As with most products and services, there were moments that we could verify, or intuitively know, whether Gage was just telling us things, or telling us the truth, or lying, and during those moments, it was clear to my wife and I that Gage wasn't saying things just to say them, but that he was answering truthfully, in our best interest, and when it came to dealing with contractors, after purchasing the home, we realized it was the contractor that was trying to appease us, just say whatever, and not look for our best interest - Gage was able to spot and bring to our attention inconsistencies or questions to raise to the contractor. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Gage. I don't know about others, but when we closed on the house, we were actually sad to "end" our relationship with Gage because for the duration of the home buying process, Gage had felt like family, going with us, and our daughters, to see homes, give his opinion on the houses and freely comment on the houses as I, my wife and daughters were doing. In the strongest language possible, we recommend, and encourage, people to seek out Gage Cole, because he cares and that will be readily apparent from the start. We suspect he had other clients, but from his demeanor, we felt as if we were the only clients he was working on. He is knowledgeable about the area, homes, essentially anything you could possibly need to know about the process. Lastly we will conclude by saying that even after the sale was over, and the house was ours, we have still sought out Gage for help and advice, and he is still as responsive and interested in helping us as he was when we trying to buy the house. He is a very good person, and we were very fortunate to meet him, his wife and family, and have the benefit of his help in buying a home that we are very pleased with and that was a prudent purchase for us. He looked out for our best interest the entire time, looking to get the best price on both ends of the deal. Gage was also incredibly responsive and easy to work with. Nothing fazed him and he was always ready to go above and beyond to make sure that everything that needed to happen occurred smoothly. If we couldn't be present for a contractor to come do a repair, he'd coordinate it and let the contractor in. If we needed to be in two places at once, he'd ensure that things were coordinated so that we could cover one without him and he could cover the other without us. Gage also hired professional photographers to prepare our listing, and the result was impressive. When looking for our new home, we found so many listings with poor photography, and may have overlooked some promising homes, but Gage made sure that our on-line listing was as impressive and complete as possible. I also took a few additional photos that Gage promptly added to our listing. Incidentally, once the process was complete, I found out that Gage moved at the same time we did. Moving is stressful, but he was so responsive that his move had absolutely NO impact on his willingness and ability to help us. To me, this says volumes about his dedication to his customers. He was always accessible by phone or email. He scheduled walkthroughs in a timely manner, often with little notice. He was extremely straightforward in assessing homes, pointing out potential flaws or recently updated aspects of a home. Early on, I set an arbitrary number that I did not want to go over. Not once did he push me to up my limit to look at more expensive houses. Nor did he ever push me towards any particular house. If it took a week or a year, he seemed more than happy to keep plugging away to find the house that fit me, which we did. His professionalism was much appreciated when looking for a house but absolutely vital once we submitted an offer on the house, allowing me to close in under a month. He was on top of everything and had excellent contacts for the mortgage, inspection, etc. I can honestly say that I may have randomly found this house on my own, but I surely wouldn't be living here today without his help. – Gage Cole
