I think what is most gratifying about being a realtor since 2011 is helping people with what could be a very stressful process. I have made it my mission to be as educated in real estate as possible so that I can guide and inform my clients fully. The more you understand the process, the more tranquil it will be. I accomplished my GRI designation from the Graduate Realtor Institute. It is a designation that represents higher education in real estate. I am currently in the midst of getting my Certified International Property Specialist Designation. I have traveled extensively in my life, have family in both Costa Rica and Scotland, I speak Spanish and have dealt with clients from all over the world. I enjoy the introspection that traveling and interacting with all peoples brings to my life.
I also feel that helping people buy and sell their homes is deeply personal and it gives me the opportunity to help people in a profound way. There are as many different situations in real estate as there are people. Some are excited, some are in dire straits, some are in business. Their needs and wants are as unique as they are. I enjoy helping my clients realize them. I have made some truly great connections with people in this career.
Another gift I have received from my path in real estate is learning so much about my city and what a lovely area I live in. The quality of life is very good in San Marcos and the surrounding areas. Texas State University has so much to offer not only our students, but our citizens as well. There are lecture series from the best America has to offer, Award winning theatrical Department productions, Loads of educational and fun summer camps for kids of all ages, A fantastic and varied music department with many musical events, a very sophisticated art department with exhibits throughout the year. The city provides us a fantastic array of restaurants and bars, many activities and classes through the parks and recreation department, a wildlife center that also has camps for kids, absolutely beautiful and extensive parks and rivers. We are a very outdoorsy lot! San Marcos also has an excellent rebate program for those desiring to upgrade their energy efficiency. The list goes on and on.
Wimberley is beautiful with it's own rivers and outdoor activities. They have tons of unique shopping, restaurants, bars, art etc. Gruene is just special. It has Texas' oldest dance hall, appropriately named Gruene Hall, with live music daily and all day Saturday and Sunday, with a spectacular Gospel Brunch on some Sundays that everyone should do at least once. What a treat! They also have many antique shops, art galleries, wine tastings and more. Austin and San Antonio are our big cities near by. I enjoy playing the part of travel guide for my clients as well.
When I began my career in real estate, I did not realize the impact it would have on me personally. It has been magical!
