Covering just over five square miles and bordered on the north by Lake Erie, the city of Rocky River, Ohio, has many upscale neighborhoods and some lakeside and lake view homes. The heart of the city, north of Interstate 90, offers brick colonial homes on impeccably landscaped lots with large, mature trees. When not in school, students, families and other citizens enjoy the Rocky River Public Library, which, at nearly 80 years old, has helped educate generations with its impressive collections. There is a sense of community here, as evidenced by the dozens of well-attended civic organizations, and the myriad of community events, including a yearly arts festival, which donates its profits back to the community for park improvements. A multitude of shops, eateries and other businesses are found within the city and those desiring bigger-city entertainment and shopping can make the quick trip into downtown Cleveland.
