The Don Umerley Civic Center is centrally located and frequented for its many amenities, including an indoor pool and playground. The city also boasts an outdoor pool as well as an indoor ice rink and a soccer arena.

The schools in Rocky River are superb and earn a ten on the Great Schools website ranking scale. When not in school, students, families and other citizens enjoy the Rocky River Public Library, which, at nearly 80 years old, has helped educate generations with its impressive collections. There is a sense of community here, as evidenced by the dozens of well-attended civic organizations, and the myriad of community events, including a yearly arts festival, which donates its profits back to the community for park improvements. A multitude of shops, eateries and other businesses are found within the city and those desiring bigger-city entertainment and shopping can make the quick trip into downtown Cleveland.
