As a senior, I have made a lot of good memories at my school and I've also seen a lot of fights, but that does not take away from all of the faculty and staff members who made me feel at home every time I walked into the school. I have nothing bad to say about any of my coaches or teachers as they helped shape me into the person I am today, I wasn't the smartest, but they always seen the best in me and that's something I will never forget, so I love my school.

Calera High school is a good school located in alabama. I had a good experience, and enjoyed the culture and diversity with the school, along with the faculty and staff.

If you are not from here be ready to have your child, singled out and alienated. And I quote, from their new coach Rials to a child and mother their first week at calera high. " not sure how they do things in Texas but we don't do that here", this after my child broke a rule and told the truth, admitted he knew the other kids involved but yet those children had no repercussions, made sexiest comments to the mother. Child was kicked off team without warning or a meeting with parents, then suspended for two days without any calls or meetings. School is now avoiding a meeting ... wonder why? None of these rules are in handbook so they are just making up things as we go. Great lesson,16 year old makes a mistake and then owns it and gets treated like a criminal..( and this was a minor incident) other children lie.. coach admits he knows they lied and nothing. Well precedent has been set, so when we bring in the proof of other students and athletes breaking same rules or worse ..

Calera teachers are great. The principal on the other hand is horrible. If you child is a black male and attend this school. I strongly advise you to write everything down on paper and get involve with Shelby County Board of Education. This man has got to be put out.

I THINK THIS SCHOOL IS A GOOD SCHOOL IF YOU ARE NOT A BLACK MALE. UPPER ADMINISTRATION SHOWS VERY LITTLE FAIRNESS TO THOSE OF THIS PARTICULAR STATUS. IF THEY COULD GET PEOPLE TO TREAT ALL STUDENTS EQUALLY, IT WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL.
