With temperatures ranging from a high of 90 in July to a low of 40 in January, everyone loves the weather.

Conveniently situated between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks is just over an hour's commute to either city, and the technological hub of Simi Valley is only a twenty minute drive away. Public transportation is also available via the Thousand Oaks Transit bus system which runs four routes throughout the city, including regular stops at the Moorpark Metrolink station. The Metrolink provides transportation into the cities of Los Angeles, Riverside, Anaheim and San Juan Capistrano to name only a few. Affordable public transport is only one benefit of living in the Thousand Oaks community, award winning schools are another. The Conejo Valley Unified School District consists of four high schools, four intermediate schools and nineteen elementary schools. Sixteen of the schools have been named Distinguished California Schools and four have been designated National Blue Ribbon Schools. In addition to these public schools, there are also nine private and parochial schools to choose from and two four-year universities California Lutheran University or Biola University-Thousand Oaks. It isn't all work and school, though. Thousand oaks is home to the Gardens of the World, Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area and the Civic Arts Plaza.
