Bellevue, Washington is a quickly growing city in King County. It is approximately 30 minutes fromSeattle, and houses many individuals who work in the tech industry, specifically those employed by Microsoft. Bellevue has a mixture of residential homes and condos. Newly developed condominiums are quickly emerging in the city’s downtown area, while the more residential areas have more traditional Pacific Northwest houses that have existed for the past few decades. Bellevue is the second largest city in Washington after Seattle.

Bellevue sits alongside Lake Washington, which acts as a natural divide between Bellevue and Seattle. The city has two separate highways that connect it to Seattle, which lessens congestion into the major city. The east side of Bellevue is bordered by Lake Sammamish, and the city has views of both the Olympic Mountains and the Cascade Mountains when the sky is clear of overcast and fog. Those who love adventure and the outdoors find Bellevue and the surrounding areas to be a mecca of possibility. In addition to the many trails in the city itself, King County as a whole is ripe with geography that offers natural outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and biking. It is also only a short ride to skiing in the winter.

Anyone who purchases real estate in Bellevue is sure to see his or her investment grow. The economic boom in Bellevue and its surrounding areas are second only to the Silicon Valley, as national and international workers flock to this technological hub. With this growing economy comes a competitive public schooling system. Five of Bellevue’s high schools were placed in the top 100 American public high schools, according to Newsweek’s 2010 ranking. Just across Lake Washington is the University of Washington, which is called a "Public Ivy" due to its prestige. Bellevue’s downtown area is extremely walkable, and the city has its own transit system that connects it to neighboring areas. The climate in Bellevue is considered mild oceanic. Nine months out of the year, the city encounters frequent rainfall and overcast skies. However, in the summer months, the city has spectacular views and sunny weather. Those who aren’t opposed to wet climates enjoy the Indian summers and take part in the many outdoor opportunities. Because of its technological boom, Bellevue is becoming increasingly diverse. This has had a positive effect on its cultural opportunities, including festivals and cuisine. In 2006, Bellevue was rated one of the safest cities in America.
