Bend, Oregon is Central Oregon's largest city and is located in Deschutes County. Positioned among scenic river, forest, and mountain views, Bend is an incredible destination for nature enthusiasts and those with artistic inclinations and a love of the outdoors. Homes in Oregon tend to be on the upper end for pricing, given their highly coveted locations and the often opulent luxury of their sizes and conveniences. Houses are typically of a newer nature and neighborhoods tend to be more affluent than not.

Bend can be found on the eastern edge of the Cascade Range, comfortably nestled along the Deschutes River. The Ponderosa Pine forest transitions in this area into a high desert with arid land, junipers, and sagebrush. The settlement of Bend began in the early 1900s and the city itself was incorporated in 1905. The town was originally a center for logging industry, but today is home to a wider range of economic activities and opportunities for residents. Inside the city limits is Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint as well as the Horse Lava Tube System, remnants of volcanic activity in the region. South of Bend is the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, a highlight for many tourists flocking to the area.

The breathtaking beauty of Bend is undeniable. Understandably, it is a major destination for outdoor sports, which include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, paragliding, camping, and rock climbing. The climate is that of a high desert, meaning that it usually experiences cool nights and sunny days. The winter season typically brings snow, but only modestly. Tourism is a huge part of Bend's economic success. The Mount Bachelor ski resort is a tremendous draw for people coming from nearby Washington State and California, as well as the local Cascade Lakes. The Deschutes Brewery, the sixth largest craft brewery in the nation, also appeals to a crowd. Bend hosts The Bend Oktoberfest, the Bend Brewfest, and Central Oregon Beer Week in honor of its successful beer culture. The Bend Film Festival, which is one of the top indie film festivals in the nation, was also hosted by Bend. There seems to be just about something for everyone that Bend has to offer. If a family can afford the slightly steeper prices of the homes available in this city, they won't regret the move. Bend features a host of colorful activities and adventures ready and open to anyone willing to take the plunge.
