Druid Hills Homes for Sale

Druid Hills, located in the northern part of Downtown Birmingham, is experiencing development and revitalization. It's not far from Druid Hills to Interstates 59 and 20, and Max Transit buses also run in the area. Housing in Druid Hills primarily consists of 20th-century Craftsman bungalows, ranch-style homes and some condos. There are more renters that residents that are owner-occupants. Children in the area may attend Norwood Elementary School, Hudson K-8 School and Carver High School. Arthur Shores Park, named after a local Civil Rights Era attorney, has a playground, amphitheater and picnic areas. Also nearby is Barker Park, with a playground, basketball courts and a walking trail. Triple M Food Store has convenience-store essentials, and grocery stores within a few miles include Piggly Wiggly and Publix. Though long-term residents might not be as inclined to focus their attention on the entertainment district Uptown, it's close enough to draw homebuyers to Druid Hills. It's only a couple of miles to Uptown attractions such as the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center, Boutwell Auditorium and the Birmingham Museum of Art. Newer additions include sports and entertainment venue Protective Stadium and City Walk BHAM, a zoned urban park. Uptown is also a dining destination, with restaurants like Texas de Brazil and Eugene's Hot Chicken.
