Davidson, North Carolina is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District. Students attend Davidson Elementary through fifth grade, and then go to Bailey Middle School and William A. Hough High School in the neighboring town of Cornelius. Several private education institutions are available, too. College-age residents often attend the city's own Davidson College, but several other colleges, including NASCAR Technical Institute, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College, are within 20 miles of the city. Although Davidson doesn't offer public transportation, the city has won awards for being one of the best for walking and biking.<br>
