Although there are no schools within Cheney, students may attend the highly rated Norris Public Schools. Public transportation is limited, but there is one StarTran bus stop on Yankee Hill Road. While Cheney lacks city parks, the 190-acre Jensen Park is close by and is slated for future development. Both restaurants share space in the Prairie Lakes Plaza shopping center with a Sam's Club, a Walmart and a Menards.
