This property is located northeast of West Union and is almost surrounded by the Wabash River. It has been enrolled by the current owners in a WRP program. The plan consists of a large water-controlled area for waterfowl while the rest of the property will be planted in native hardwoods. The NRCS office has said that they will allow some compatibility use agreements for food plots, but those locations have not yet been determined. The property is currently all open and was planted in corn last year. Deer and turkeys are typically in the field at any given time. There are approximately 85 acres of mature timber that wrap a little over 1.5 miles around the property. In addition, there is a little over 2 miles of river frontage providing some great waterfowl hunting opportunities. This will be an incredible wildlife refuge when the WRP plan is completed. There are also several thousand acres of Indiana Dept of Natural Resources property on the other side of the river. I will update the website as I get more information and blueprints from the state.
