The design of the home incorporated this wood in the ceiling panels, stairways, wainscoting and custom kitchen cabinets. The kitchen is a professional chef’s dream come true. Butcher block islands, twin ovens, twin refrigerators, granite counter tops, ice machine and elegant pendant lighting are just a few of the fine appointments. Not only are the surfaces durable, but all hardware is top of the line, as well. There are two distinct dining areas on this level. One is the breakfast nook, with its built in seating and solid oak table and the other is the main dining area with its opulent mahogany table and seating for 18. This level also is home to the luxurious master suite. A king sized Century bed and 8 foot French doors are just a few of the amenities. The master bath once again incorporates the custom eucalyptus with fine Kohler fixtures. There is a tiled shower with rainforest heads and toe tester (call for details). There is a private elevator to get us to the other floors…but the stairwells are a sight to behold. Moving down the stairway, the first thing to catch your eye is the brushed aluminum handrails (the same kind you see on sportfishing yachts) and stainless steel cables replacing the customary balusters. These elements offer a clean, modern look in an indestructible finish. The mid level is home to seven bedrooms, each of which is decorated using fine furnishings and light fixtures. Did I mention that a lighting designer was used for all aspects of optics throughout the house? But I digress…Most every bedroom in the house is a master with its own luxurious bath. On the lower level, the fun begins in the huge gameroom with slate billiards table, full kitchenette and widescreen TV. The floor is stained concrete with antiqued etching, reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century speakeasy. Adjacent is the plush theater room with wide screen, reclining sofas, recessed optics and a high end Boston Acoustic audio system. The entire house was designed for comfort and durability. Perhaps the most adorning feature is the wrap around porches. All decks are self draining and made of teak. All teakwood was attached using a connector system, so there are no screws to be seen. The plan called for the decks to be dropped six inches from the living areas so that the ocean views would not be obstructed for the guests inside. Such a brilliant idea! Stainless steel cables were used again to optimize sight lines of the Atlantic. In the rear yard you’ll find a large saltwater gunite pool and well as a hot tub covered by a sail shade. Even the fencing is durable aluminum, so maintenance throughout has been minimized. This description only scratches the surface of the long list of features.
