LETTER FROM THE OWNERS: This secluded acreage with a private drive lies in the Rocky Bottom Creek Valley. It encompasses 5.9 acres and approx. 950’ of scenic creek front on a stocked trophy trout stream. It has provided our family and friends years of fabulous memories and fun entertainment. It is nestled at the foot of Sassafras Mtn., the highest peak in SC. The land adjoins the Heritage Preserve in Jocassee Gorge. It is well-known for the abundant wildlife, scenery, photographic spots, and hunting opportunities including A deer, turkey, bear, and hog species. We have enjoyed camping, riding our horses and atv’s thru the Horse Pasture Road, and seasonal game hunting. Fishing is a must in the creek bordering the property. Rocky Bottom Creek is stocked with trophy trout (brook, rainbow, and browns). The private pond has been stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish. An additional branch runs along the driveway providing a beautiful scenic valley view. For those craving a more relaxed time, a rustic primitive cabin allows family and friends ample space to hang out and rock on the porch, put wood in the fire pit, or grill on the BBQ. Many of a day we have fed hunters, hikers, and those swimming in the creek; providing a nice fire to come back to for an evening of camp stories. On the 4th of July, fireworks and a parade are a community tradition.
Hiking trails lead to waterfalls, and public access trails, such as the Foothill Trail, the new Sassafrass Lookout, and our Blue Ridge Mtns of the Appalachian chain provide numerous opportunities to finding a trail to suit your style and comfort. One is only a few miles from Twin Falls,, The Narrows, and Jumping Off Rock and many other places to explore. So enjoy the cabin with a wood heater and a portable a/c unit or experience the outdoors in your own backyard. We have loved the experience for years and know others will enjoy it as well. The colors of fall sunsets stream through the trees, the spring rains make tubing the nearby rivers a great experience and the summer time hiking brings so much clean air and summer fun; winters will be amazing as you snuggle by the fire enjoying those smores and maybe a nice cigar with your friends.
