Beautiful 2.4 acre lot with a beautiful, large, crystal clear, sandy bottom creek in the back of the lot. There is electric, natural gas, phone, county water, and cable to the property. The houses in the neighborhood are ALL on at least 1 acre and do require septic tanks. Also there are restrictions on the size of the houses. The houses must be brick or stucco (no vinyl siding). The 100 year flood map shows the back acre+- in a flood zone (this is because of the creek that runs along the back of the property). The front acre is NOT on the 100 year flood map. Please check with authorities to see if flood insurance is required. NO flood insurance was required for either of the houses next door, nor across the street. The property also has a very UNIQUE artifact on it. Halfway into the property is reminisce of an old steam driven saw mill, called a ''Pecker Mill''. The concrete foundation including the bolts still remains. Also remaining is the platform for the saw blade. Several bricks and pieces of pipe and relics of saw blades are abundant on the property. The bricks where part of the chimney that provided fire to boil and then to produce steam to turn the blade. Using a metal detector, I and the local historical organization in Baker, were able to find oxen rings, saw blades, hammers, wrenches, and other types of tools. This saw mill dates back to 1910 and was nicely preserved under 6-8 inches of dirt. The logs where cut from the area, dragged by the ox to the creek in the back of the lot, and then floated to the Yellow River (which is less than a mile west) and then floated down to the local lumber factory.
