Demand for local food here in Hawaii far exceeds supply. Approximately 85% of the food available in Hawaii arrives by ship or plane. There is great support for local agriculture in North Kohala, as well as Island wide. As the owner of Sage Farms, you will be a vital part of the community of North Kohala.

Water is expensive in Hawaii, but in addition to county water, this farm has an extensive watering system which is supplied with agricultural water from Kohala Ditch. Kohala Ditch is an expansive 22.5 mile historic irrigation system which dates back to the early 1900's. The cost for this water supply is negligible, making all products produced on this farm very cost effective.

Certified organic since 1997, this farm has a State of Hawaii Department of Health certified packing shed, two tractors with implements, comprehensive irrigation infrastructure and all tools needed to continue producing high quality organic produce.
