Wilder, Idaho, established in 1919, is a small agricultural town located in western Canyon County near the Oregon border. The city was named after Marshall P. Wilder, a magazine editor. The area developed as part of the Boise Project, a federal irrigation initiative that transformed the arid land into fertile farmland. This project enabled the cultivation of various crops, including potatoes, sugar beets, onions, corn, grain, mint, and notably, hops, which are used in brewing beer.
