Rolling Acres has gone through significant changes in Akron over the past several decades. In the 1970s, the area was a major retail space known as Rolling Acres Mall before Amazon established a fulfillment center in the corridor, bringing over 5,000 jobs to the area. Today, the neighborhood embraces a bohemian vibe with a mix of historic homes, Cape Cods, Colonials and mid-century moderns dating back to the early 20th century. Interstates 76 and 77 both run alongside the community, making most points in Akron accessible within half an hour. There are Metro RTA buses along Romig Road, and the Akron-Canton Airport is over 15 miles away. Dining options include chain restaurants such as Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s and Little Caesars Pizza, as well as local favorite Primo’s Deli. The closest grocery stores are Aldi and Acme Fresh Market. Greg Angeletti Ballfields has two baseball diamonds, while Prentiss Park has a playground, soccer field and tennis courts. Students are zoned for the Akron City School District, which earns mixed ratings on Niche. The Rialto Theatre is directly east in Kenmore and hosts short plays, poetry readings and live music performances.
