Albuquerque’s North Campus neighborhood includes the University of New Mexico’s graduate law and medical school buildings, with many students and faculty members living nearby. Tom Hornback, the owner of CoyoteABQ Realty Pros, who has helped a number of clients find homes in North Campus, says the proximity to the university is one of its main draws. “You could hit it with a baseball,” he says, explaining how close the home one of his clients purchased was to the law school. “North Campus just has a little bit of panache. You can be edgy but upscale at the same time.” In addition to a lively intellectual community, North Campus is home to several staple local restaurants, as well as the university’s public and historic golf course. The residential portion of the neighborhood surrounds the University of New Mexico (UNM) graduate campus, and more than half of North Campus residents rent their homes. Pueblo-style cottages with thick stucco walls built throughout the 1940s and 1950s range from $360,000 to $475,000. These homes come with shaded front and back patios that look out on generous backyards with conscious xeriscaping. Ranch-style builds from the 1950s fetch between $475,000
