Battlefield, Missouri, got its name from the site of the Civil War’s Battle of Wilson’s Creek. Today, the nearby site is a hilly and wooded park that draws local outdoor enthusiasts and tourists. In addition to its proximity to the old war grounds, Battlefield offers some buffer from its neighbors’ larger crowds.
