Privacy and small-town vibes in Alabama

Residents can find privacy in Greenbrier, an outlying community just 17 miles from Huntsville. “The area has grown a lot over the years, with schools being renovated and new buildings opening,” says Carissa Scott, an associate broker with Legend Realty. Scott has lived in the area for over three decades and has been in the real estate business for 15 years. “I’ve noticed people that are starting a family tend to move here,” Scott says. The Amazon Fulfillment Center and Target Distribution Center are the two major employers that bring in many jobs for residents, and out-of-towners. “They bring a lot of people from other parts of the country, it’s become a melting pot,” Scott says. “Greenbrier has a small-town feel, but not so much so that you feel like an insider, you can easily integrate into the community.”
