Bostwick, Georgia, a small city with a population of around 300, has maintained its historic charm for over a century. Established in the early 1900s around a cotton oil mill, Bostwick is still home to one of Georgia’s last operational cotton gins. The city is surrounded by fast-growing areas but remains largely unchanged, encircled by farms. While Bostwick has few businesses, nearby Madison and Athens provide more dining, shopping, and nightlife options. Madison, located about 5 miles south, has restaurants, boutiques, and home goods stores, while Athens, 15 miles north, offers bars, breweries, and eateries. Community events include an annual Fourth of July barbecue in a pecan grove and concerts at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. Bostwick is conveniently located along Georgia state Route 83, with a 30-minute drive to Athens and a 60-mile trip to Atlanta.
