Why Live in Foxhurst

Foxhurst is a Bronx neighborhood that appeals to commuters and families for its parks, local restaurants and access to Interstate 278 and several subway lines. The community's midrise brick buildings from the 1910s are mostly apartments, but there are also multifamily properties and co-op buildings, some of which are income restricted. Multiple subway stations are in the neighborhood and are serviced by the 2, 5 and 6 trains to reach destinations such as Manhattan and Hunts Point. Dining options include Parrilla Azteca Cibaena Bar & Grill, Brianna’s Pizzeria and Spanish Food and the long-standing Johnson’s Bar-B-Q. Western Beef and Key Food are the closest grocery stores. Foxhurst features several parks, including Reverend Polite Playground and Tiffany Playground, as well as Concrete Plant Park, along the Bronx River. This park offers a dog park and a pier for launching kayaks or canoes. The highly rated Metropolitan High School serves the neighborhood and offers a variety of student clubs.
