Why Live in Blythe Island
Surrounded by the South Brunswick and Turtle Rivers, Blythe Island is known for its peaceful surroundings and access to water recreation. “It’s very rural — not just Blythe Island but the surrounding area as a whole,” says Deanne Cohrs, a Realtor with Keller Williams Golden Isles who’s sold homes in the area since 2017. “The biggest draw is its proximity to the water. The Golden Isles’ beaches are within 30 minutes, and the commercial districts of Brunswick are a 15-minute drive. Blythe Island’s homes typically sit far from the street behind palm trees and live oaks draped in Spanish moss. Ranch-style houses and bungalows are in the island’s interior, where prices generally range from around $275,000 to $510,000, though fixer-uppers can cost between $130,000 to $300,000.
