In a city full of green space, West Casper places residents in a prime position for outdoor recreation. This section of Wyoming’s second-largest city unfurls beside a piece of the North Platte River. The homes here sometimes come with larger lots than in other parts of Casper, and they’re close to multiple parks, trails and golf courses. “With all the parks and things, people are outside a lot here,” says Casper native Lisa Engebretsen, the broker and owner at Forefront Real Estate, with 15 years of realty experience. The North Platte River is a signature feature of this area, and locals can access it from spots like Amoco Park. The park is where people can drop a kayak in the water or drop a line to fish. A portion of the 11-mile Platte River Trail also runs through it. Fort Caspar Campground & RV Park, farther west on the river, has two fishing ponds and is open year-round. The inland Nancy English Park includes a playground and a sliver of the Garden Creek Greenway trail. Engebretsen says there are many golfers in the area. West Casper’s Three Crowns Golf Club has an 18-hole course open to the public, and Paradise Valley Country Club is a private option. Those looking to get
