Pullman is a South Side Chicago neighborhood steeped in industrial history. It was originally developed in the late 1880s as a company town for the Pullman Palace Car Company. The Pullman National Historic Park showcases the workshop and the administrative building with its iconic clock tower. Historic brick rowhomes from the 1880s reflect the neighborhood's past. The north end features bungalows and Georgians from the 1930s to the 1960s. The neighborhood is also very industrial. Major companies like Method Products, Amazon and Ferrero have warehouses and manufacturing plants along Interstate 94. The Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park provides indoor athletic facilities. Dining options are sparser in this neighborhood, but you can stop in Lexington Betty Smokehouse. For groceries, there's a Walmart Supercenter. Pullman is served by the Metra’s ME line with easy access to downtown Chicago, 15 miles away, and it's close to I-94 for those who commute by car.
