Chula Vista, California is a coastal city in California, approximately seven miles south of San Diego. It is the 14th largest city in the state and the second largest community in San Diego County. Though most of the housing stock consists of single family homes, Chula Vista has a variety of condominiums, ranging from one bedroom units to upscale offerings with multiple bedrooms, modern kitchens, resort style pools and spectacular views.

The easternmost neighborhood in Chula Vista is Jamul, which is located in the foothills of the mountains. This region is not as densely populated as other sections of the city, which provides space for larger residences. Most of the houses and condominiums in this area have been recently constructed. Bordering I-805, the Bonita neighborhood is more moderately priced, with residences that have been built between 1970 and 1999. The neighborhood’s low crime rate and educated population make it an attractive option for families with school age children. Chula Vista’s lower to middle income neighborhoods are located closer to the water. The Castle Park and Hilltop Drive/Sierra Way regions can be found between interstates I-5 and I-805. They consist of older single family homes and high rises that were built during the baby-boomer era. Residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy over 50 square miles of coastline, canyons, mountains, hiking trails and parks.

Chula Vista’s top industries revolve around tourism, hospitality, retail trade, technology and health care. Many individuals are employed by the city’s small businesses, which include restaurants, boat charters, sport fishing and whale watching. According to a recent annual report, the area’s top employers include Chula Vista’s school districts, United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Southwestern College and Walmart. Uber has also provided a significant number of jobs in the community. The University Park and Innovation District in Eastern Chula Vista is under development, which will provide additional employment opportunities. Residents of Chula Vista are within commuting distance to employment opportunities in San Diego, El Cajon and La Jolla.
