Why Live in East Commerce City

East Commerce City is just a couple miles west of Denver International Airport, about 20 miles outside of Denver. Newly developed master-planned communities anchor the area, giving the streets a uniform curb appeal, and proximity to downtown is a draw. “This is a newer area that’s within 30 minutes of downtown Denver,” says Arlene Castro, a Realtor at IGo Realty with over 20 years of experience. “The location is great because it’s near the highway, and many people who live here work in the city.” The area is also between Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and Barr Lake State Park, offering residents plenty of recreation opportunities. East Commerce City is mostly made up of newly built 21st-century subdivision homes, but there are a handful of 1950s ranch-style houses on the outer edges of the area. Many master-planned communities feature uniform landscaping, monthly association fees and recreational amenities like clubhouses and sports facilities. Single-family homes typically feature New Traditional architecture and fall between $450,000 and $650,000. Reunion, a new master-planned community with more inexpensive homes, has properties that start around $350,000.
