Why Live in Valeria
Valeria is a sought-after and secluded community in the Town of Cortlandt. Before the area was a luxury neighborhood, it was a popular resort built by Valeria Knapp Langeloth in the 1920s. Langeloth took the money she inherited from her husband Jacob’s will and honored his wishes by building the Valeria House. The resort was transformed into a residential community named Valeria in the 1980s. Some of the original resort's most relaxing and peaceful aspects draw homeowners to the area today.
“It has an unbelievable landmark clubhouse with a swimming pool, walking trails, a 43-acre lake and tennis courts,” says Candace D’Addario, Realtor of Candace D’Addario Homes Team. D’Addario and her team have sold multiple homes in the neighborhood, including the two most expensive properties in Valeria. “You get in there, and it’s breathtaking. You feel like you’re in Switzerland.” Nearly 700 acres of nature preserves surround the neighborhood, but despite feeling like a hidden spot in nature, residents can take a short drive to busy areas like Peekskill and Croton-on-Hudson. Valeria is filled with luxury condos and townhouses, and D’Addario says no two are the same. Townhouses are in sets
