Why Live in Church Road
The rural area of Church Road on the Amelia-Dinwiddie county line is less a neighborhood and more an expanse of country living where lots are a half-acre or more and the most exciting thing is a day at the lake. “It’s very rural,” says Rhonda Gay, an eXp Realtor familiar with the Tri-Cities area. “There’s not a whole lot out in this area other than Lake Chesdin, which people like for recreation.”
While the quiet, country vibe and proximity to water are two big draws, they are not the only ones. “It’s very sought-out for the school district,” says Realtor Jeremy Cecchettini of JC Realty, who has nearly a decade of experience in the Petersburg-Colonial Heights-Hopewell market. “Primarily, Midway Elementary is a very sought-out school in the area. It’s what everybody is searching for.” The Amelia County Public Schools system serves the far north side of the area, but much of Church Road is zoned to Dinwiddie County Public Schools, including Midway Elementary. “All of Dinwiddie is looking to move out here for Midway,” Cecchettini says.
