Seminole has ranch-style homes in a quiet setting outside Mobile
Seminole is a small country suburb sitting between Prichard and Semmes, two smaller cities just a short distance from Mobile. Settled in the 1830s and incorporated in 1925, Prichard is known as the "City of Champions." Meanwhile, Semmes has maintained a reputation as the nursery capital of the world due to its abundance of garden centers and nurseries selling ornamental shrubs like azaleas and camellias. Seminole residents enjoy the quiet, private country living the neighborhood provides, with ranch-style and Craftsman-style homes sitting on lots with plenty of acreage between them. Many homes are shielded from view by a wooded curtain of mature trees. Home prices in the area range from $135,000 to $250,000.

Recreation includes fishing and golfing in Semmes Municipal Park
The Semmes Regional Library is just west of Seminole. Locals can check out the latest cozy mystery novel and immerse themselves in its twists and turns from a park bench at Semmes Municipal Park. Of course, there's much more to do than read at the expansive park. Kids can escape the Alabama heat at the fun and colorful splash pad, while local anglers can enjoy a day of catch-and-release fishing at the park's pond. "The Admiral" Disc Golf course can also be found within the Municipal Park. John Houck, the premier master designer for disc golf in the country, designed the championship disc golf course. Thousands of regional and national players use the course each year, with professional PDGA Tournaments held here throughout the year. The Admiral course is a par 65 with three sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels. Two ponds are incorporated into its design, while subtle topography changes come into play, making the course more complex. Of course, a relaxing day of neighborly barbeques is always on the table, with three pavilions featuring grills and seating areas.

Mary's Restaurant & Lounge is the area's dive bar. It features all the usual suspects, including pool tables, string lights, neon beer signs, karaoke and boisterous, but friendly, regulars. Also nearby is the family-owned Semmes House of Pizza, which has served the community cheesy slices of goodness for over a decade. For retail therapy, there's a nearby Ollie's Bargain Outlet.
