Pendale is a multi-generational community in El Paso that’s about a mile from the Mexican border. The neighborhood was primarily built in the 1950s, with many ranch-style and split-level homes sitting side by side on narrow streets. Single-family homes make up three-quarters of residential properties, and paved sidewalks and level terrain make it easy to get around on foot. Marion Manor Park is just a short walk away and has an open field with a walking loop that winds around it. It also includes a playground, swings and basketball and tennis courts. Students attend classes in the Ysleta Independent School District, including Mission Valley Elementary, Del Valle Middle and Del Valle High. The area is located halfway between Interstate 10 and Texas State Highway 375, which commuters use to drive 12 miles north to Downtown El Paso. Sun Metro buses provide public transportation to nearby amenities such as the University Medical Center Ysleta and the El Paso International Airport. Several businesses can be found by North Loop Drive, including eateries like Mi Cabaña Mexican Restaurant. More retail can be found in Plaza De Flores and Zaragoza Village, which also has many fast-food and chain restaurants, discount stores and the El Super market.
