El Paso’s Ranchland East neighborhood is aptly named, consisting mostly of ranch-style homes just south of Interstate 10. “It’s a convenient location, right by I-10,” says Tracie Musshorn, a Realtor with Majestic Realtors. “Plus, there’s the community college, parks and rec centers.” In addition to proximity to parks, restaurants and major thoroughfares, the neighborhood offers an affordable price point in a fast-moving market. “It’s more affordable than some other areas in El Paso,” Musshorn says. “And the Mexican food here is amazing.” Homes here sell quickly, averaging only two weeks on the market. For comparison, the national average for a home listing is about 45 days. Many homes date from the midcentury; the neighborhood’s median build year is 1954. While mostly ranch-style layouts, a few split-levels are scattered throughout the area. “Families often stay here a long time, and those homes may need renovation,” Musshorn says. Homes requiring updates and TLC can cost between $100,000 and $150,000, while move-in-ready properties run from about $170,000 to $210,000.
